Cheap Flight Tips

Airplane flying to Caribbean Island!

1. Check the web sites of the individual airlines.  You may find special deals here that are not available with the big online travel agencies.  Some discount airlines in fact do not participate with the online travel agencies, and you can only purchase your tickets from their home website.

2. Be careful of how much you pack, and travel as lightly as possible.  So many airlines are now charging extra for checked luggage.  If you can manage your luggage in just a carry on piece, not only can it save you these extra fees but it can also save you time when you reach your destination.

3. A good rule of thumb is to pack for no more than three days.  If your trip is longer plan to launder what you brought.  At most hotels you can manage this readily.  While doing a load of laundry may not be what you plan as the highlight of your vacation, a simple trip to the guest laundry area can save you time and money at the airport.

4. Slight adjustments to your travel arrangements can save you significant money.  Early or late flights are generally less expensive.  The same is true if you can travel on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Sunday tends to be the most expensive day to fly.

5. Travelling early in the day gives you the best chance to arrive at your destination on time.  Nonstop flights give you a better chance of an on time arrival as well.
